How come I can't send the case with the item?

In order to keep your shipping costs down, we have decided to forgo having you send the case. Besides being something that could break in the mail, cases also add unneeded weight and therefore postage. Members who use BarterBee.com envelopes will also receive a protective sleeve with the envelope. Since you can request an item with the covers and inserts, you can insert the item you receive back into an empty case left over from an item you sent to another member. We expect members to be trading and to use the empty cases they will have from trading. If the cover for the item you are sending can not be separated from the case and you wish to include the cover, you will be required to mail the entire case. In this situation you must weigh the item and add the correct additional postage. Don't forget when choosing the item's listing point value.

What if the person I sent the item to indicates they didn't get it?

If a member doesn't receive an item you sent, they will report the item as missing. All missing items will be investigated for fraud, and any violation of BarterBee.com Terms and Conditions can result in termination of membership. If you use the BarterBee.com envelopes, you will still receive your points after the incident has been reported. If you used your own envelope you will have lost your item. The USPS is very reliable and this has been a rare occurance for BarterBee.com trades, but we encourage you to purchase and use the BarterBee.com envelopes so that we may insure your items sent.

Why are the items mailed using the USPS?

Mail sent through the USPS has proven to be reliable and is the most cost-effective way to send the items.

Do I have to send an item to a member with a poor rating?

No, this involves a Cancel. You do not have to mail an item to a member with a poor rating. You will need to make sure to acknowledge that you will not be sending the item by going to the My Trades clicking on the 'send' next to the item and then indicating that you are not sending the item. The more request you Cancel, the lower your rating will go. If you continually cancel requests your membership could be suspended.
